“Sharing the trip with my sister made it a chance to explore that connection together. We’ve had a wonderful time, and we’re so pleased to have made the journey with Scottish Luxury Experience.”Rebecca Shelnut

Rebecca’s journey began with an interest in her Scottish family history. What was first planned as a solo trip became time to share with her sister, exploring places connected with their family and Scotland’s wider story.

Starting with the Hume heartland

Hume Castle and the surrounding Borders gave the trip its starting point. We planned time around the castle, Melrose and Jedburgh, bringing the Hume name into a landscape of hills, abbeys and historic towns. Travelling with her sister made that family connection something they could explore together.

A wider journey through Scotland

The ten-day plan began and ended in Edinburgh, reaching west through Stirling and Oban before continuing into Glencoe. Glenfinnan, Loch Ness and Inverness formed the Highland stretch, with Culloden bringing another part of Scotland’s history into view.

Time together, with a personal purpose

The itinerary was designed to leave room for conversation, reflection and an interest in ancestry. We handled the planning so the sisters could focus on the journey. Rebecca’s message afterwards was brief and warm: they had had a wonderful time.
